Futureworks: Year 3 Complete

Wow, I’ve finally done it! I’ve handed in all my assignments for the year!

Looking back, I can’t believe how fast the past three years have just flown by. It feels like such a cliche to type out, but it’s true; I feel like I only just started the course yesterday. How time flies when you’re having fun!

Now I’m in that rather anxious phase of anxiously waiting for my final marks to be published. However, regardless of how everything turns out results-wise, my time at Futureworks studying game audio has been absolutely amazing, so I thought it’d be a fitting moment to express a couple of important thank yous to the people who have made my time on the course such a happy and joyful experience.

I feel extremely grateful and very lucky that I’ve had the opportunity to get to know and work with such an awesome and lovely bunch of folks over the past three years. Joe, Josh, Nathaniel, Alex, Adam, Aaron and James; if you’re reading this, you guys are the best! Cheers for being a bedrock of support, love and humour, even to a weirdo like me from the ‘wrong’ side of the Pennines! It’s going to feel really strange not catching up with you all weekly in room 201 going forward, but it’ll be fine because we’ll keep in touch via our various daft exploits on The Forest, PUBG and Sea of Thieves instead! I seriously can’t believe how quickly our time at Futureworks has come and gone. Here’s to many more years of friendship, and all the best to each and every one of you as we make our way into the industry.

I also want to say a big thank you to my personal tutor Joe Shorrocks for his help, guidance and support from day one of the course. You opened my eyes to all the possibilities of game audio and the exciting places it can go, and catalysed my interest and passion for audio implementation. This massively helped to set me on the path to developing into a capable and confident sound designer, and I’m grateful for all the knowledge and advice you’ve passed onto me and my course mates these past three years. Thank you! :)

Futureworks Year 3 Intro

Started my third and final year of studying Game and Interactive Audio at Futureworks today; I can’t believe these past few years have flown by so fast! I spent this week going over the various module handbooks I’ll need to refer to over the course of this semester, so that I’m ready to hit the ground running when tuition properly starts up next week.
